Contactless Callousness

Last week our CEO, Helen Dickinson OBE, wrote to the to the Economic Secretary, John Glen MP, requesting HM Treasury intervention to break an impasse with UK Finance and prevent unilateral bank implementation of a £100 operational contactless limit for payment cards from October 15th 2021.

As the letter suggests (log-in to view), retailers are first looking for a commitment from the payments industry and a timeline to resolve flaws in the current contactless customer journey that are resulting in losses for retailers (contactless walk-offs) and putting staff at risk.
