Individual retailer perspectives
Although general footprint trends for the retail industry can be summarised by sector, emissions profiles vary significantly between retailers, even within the same sector. Each retailer must measure and assess their own footprint as a first step, to understand their own emissions sources and priority areas for targeting reductions.
Section 4 discusses the current context for greenhouse gas measurement, and its importance for setting science-based targets and informing carbon reduction interventions.
